1st semester activities

The UMi-TWINN project has been running for 6 months now and the University of Miskolc has established a good basis for collaborating efficiently with the consortium partners. Many activities have been performed during the first semester of UMi-TWINN project such as: the development of the promotion and dissemination strategy, including the preparation of promotional materials, the organisation of two training workshops; and staff exchanges which have already taken place between UMi, Fraunhofer IFF and TU Graz.

UMi-TWINN training workshop #1
The first workshop was organised from 21st to 22nd April 2016 in Miskolc as a satellite event of the famous "MultiScience - XXX. microCAD" international conference. The twinning partners Fraunhofer IFF and TU Graz contributed to the training and UMi invited representatives from 9 Hungarian companies.

UMi-TWINN training workshop #2
The partner Fraunhofer IFF took the opportunity to hold their annual forum IFF Science Days, which took place from the 21st to 24th June 2016 in Magdeburg (Germany). For this event, the coordinator UMi sent a delegation of seven staff members to participate in the Science Days and to develop their network contacts.

Staff Exchanges
The short term staff exchanges are the ideal activities to strengthen ties between UMi and its twining partners. Several staff exchanges have already been made to and from Hungary where the partners have agreed on their next staff exchange programme. For example, in May 2016, UMi had sent eight staff members to TU Graz in Austria to identify research topics of mutual interest and to develop synergies in the field of logistics technologies.

Promotional activities
During the 1st semester of the UMi-TWINN project, several promotional materials have been created including the project leaflet, poster and a PowerPoint presentation describing the main objectives and activities of the project. All the materials are available in the Download section of the project website: www.umi-twinn.com
